Never used these before. This is much better than twisting and taping these low voltage wires. Will definitely use these again - very simple to use.

We were changing out our recessed lights and found them to already be wired with this type of connector. Rather than re-wiring both connections I decided to just buy this pack so I can only wire our new bulbs and connect them directly into the pre-done main wires. We ran into the issue of our lights having too thin of wire to engage the locking mechanism. The wires just kept bending when trying to insert them. We ended up bridging the lights with 18G electrical wires to make them strong enough to utilize the push in method this connector requires. It took an extra 2 min per bulb but saved us the headache of rewiring the connectors in our ceiling. All the connectors we used from this pack worked perfectly.

Most 'can light' LED inserts, or downlight conversion kits, come with this style connector already installed on their power leads. Some inserts may have an Edison (traditional screw lamp base) adapter in their retail box, with the mating half of this connector already installed on a short pigtail. If, like us, you are making the permanent leap to use LED lamps (as opposed to screw in LED bulbs) in your can lights, and don't want to mess with the added bulk or hassle of the adapter, this is likely the connector you'll need to make that change seamless.TO THOSE STINGY FOLKS THAT WANT TO PULL OF AN OLD CONNECTOR FOR REUSE, DON'T!!! THESE ARE INTENDED TO BE SINGLE USE, AND INEXPENSIVE ENOUGH TO NOT MESS AROUND SALVAGING -- AN ELECTRICAL FIRE IS NOT WORTH YOU BEING THAT CHEAP.As other reviewers have noted, these are intended for solid wire, not stranded. And not designed for a smaller diameter than 18 AWG (American Wire Gauge uses an inverted name-size ratio, meaning larger numbers equate to a smaller diameter) wire --all the light housings I've converted had 16 or 18 AWG, depending on the originally intended maximum wattage incandescent bulb it was designed for, and other than a quick application of solder, effectively tinning the exposed stranded wires to make them act as a solid, these were a very easy installation. If you are not familiar with these terms or the wire tinning process, hire a professional or stick with using the premade adapter, such as
Rextin Medium Edison E26 Socket adapter
if your LED lamp didn't come with one in its lamp's retail box.

I used these connectors to make LED powerplug to GU10 adapters. The GU10 bulbs I am using are LEDs so are well within the power rating of the 4" fixture I have but this opens up more bulb options. The connectors are designed for 18 AWG solid wire, to use stranded you need to solder the ends of the wire and make sure enough solder soaks into the wire jacket to make the end of the stranded wire "solid".

Exact OEM replacement for HALO LED inserts and recessed cans. Had to re-retrofit previously installed cans and needed the HALO clips. Perfect. And cost effective. Saved me hours of work and money not having to rip out good cans jsut to put news ones up.
