I ended up using it as an indoor cage to introduce the Bengals to the chow chow and my other 2 cats. After acclimation, I converted the cat-room into an indoor play space for the cats. Now they get to chase each other around the ceiling.

We got this in July, opened it, looked at the way too incomplete directions and decided to wait until after vacation. We have spent an afternoon trying to assemble, when one piece goes on, a previous one falls off and instead of using the twist ties at the end, we’re having to use them as we go. There are no directions or images for the door. The cat is definitely interested in it, weighs 10 pounds and we’re not sure it’s going to hold him up. We will try to finish and try it, but for the price I expected more. I have a feeling this will end up in the garbage.

Very flexible in what you can do with it but the sturdiness is kind of iffy. The thing that’s helping it the most would be the zip ties. I would need more zip ties because a few times it did end up falling then had to readjust everything with more zip ties to secure it more but overall it’s ok

My cats love this...that's first and foremost. I love taking them outside but knowing they're safe and have space to move around. The metal pieces are a bit more flimsy than I'd like and bow very easily. I've used well beyond the amount of zip ties included in the box (had to purchase more) to make sure the pieces won't fall out from under them or that they'll break out. There is also one secure door and the rest we've had to use carabiner clips to keep closed or they could push them open easily. It's nice to have multiple doors when someone is being stubborn and won't come out. It was quite a process to put together as well, but is fully customizable because of the individual panels. My kittens are pushing one year old and about 7 lbs., I think. Just to give a reference.

If you've ever put together one of those modular wire shelves, you know exactly what you're in for with this system. The wire grids fit into the connectors. They need to be pushed in all the way so they are held securely, but of course, pushing them together is a fool's errand due to how thin they are. This cage does come with a little hammer that was helpful in knocking the pieces together, but it still became a challenge when there was more than one piece attached to a connector.I built a three by three catio with an opening in the middle so my spoiled cats could taste the grass that they love, and of course, they all hated it. It was a cage. A big cage, but still a cage. Nevertheless, all of the various doors that came with this set was helpful in setting things up so I can access them wherever they are. It feels stable, like it's not about to fall apart or blow away, and so far the cats have not escaped, though to be fair, they haven't really tried. They HAVE climbed around the levels and I haven't noticed any insecurity, so that's good. Since I'm using this outside, I took the hammock down. The solid platforms have a tendency to collect water that I'm not too happy about. I'm wondering if it would be possible to poke a hole in the center to help them drain and dry faster. There were plenty of pieces to build a 3x3, but not much bigger. I did have a couple pieces leftover, and I gave up on the ramps because they only connect to the grid pieces, not the solid pieces. My cats could not figure them out and found it easier to jump. They might be more helpful for smaller creatures.I ordered a second, white set, and I added this set onto the larger black set and ended up with a 3x4x5 catio tall enough to reach a bedroom window. Now I can let the cats out without having to open a door, and I also have a 4x1 door that I can fit through if I duck. The catio is tall enough for me to stand up inside without brushing my head (5'6"), and it has largely been sturdy, even with my 13 lb cat leaping down from above onto some of the platforms.I say largely, because one of the pieces has bent. It's unfortunately a bit of a key piece, as it's the first step to allow the cats to get higher, and one of the sides just bent right in the center. I was shocked, as it had only been after a day of use. However, I clipped a small binder clip over the bend, and that seems to have done a perfect job keeping it from getting worse or breaking and actually supports the platform where it needs to be supported. My other biggest complaint are the full-square doors. These felt very insecure and like weak points in the cage. There also aren't any easy ways to secure them. There are a few little clips, 2 for each door, that sort of holds them in the right space, and there are some large lobster claw clasps that can be used to hold them to the piece beside them (though this is difficult to angle the claw the right way to easily open it), but none of these pieces are particularly structural and are more to keep the animal from escaping. I do appreciate that I can stack the doors together to make something that big human me is capable of crawling through, but at the same time, stacking the doors together makes them feel even less sturdy. The zip ties were essential to making this cage feel genuinely sturdy. Between the two sets, I had enough zip ties to do all of the side joins, much of the interior, and still have a couple leftover, but I would have appreciated more. I also would have appreciated more pieces in general, just so I could have reinforced all the stages better. I ended up using every single piece in both sets to build this monstrosity, and I purchased a third set (black, 2x2x3) so I could put in a few extra reinforcements and so I had backups in case anything broke or was damaged. My cats pretty much love it. They don't like it so much when I keep the door closed so they can't get out, but there's plenty of space for all three of them to move around, and they love the freedom of being allowed "out" when it's dark or they have to go to the vet.
