These are nice budget brake pads with fins that fit perfectly in my XT 8120 brakes. They feel a bit lighter duty than the original Shimano pads and putting them on a scale one new pad weighs 10g vs 16g for a Shimano pad that I’d ridden a while on. The difference probably comes from the metal backing plate on the original that these pads lack, and that lack of thermal mass might affect the way they dissipate heat. They do look great though.I’d say they’re perfectly fine for trail and XC riding (XC weight weenies might actually prefer the 12g weight savings for a pair), but if your the type of rider that does crazy black diamond downhills and have more of a tendency to heat up your brakes you may want to spend the extra cash on OEM pads.
