Quality: C—Brush head is round and fluffy, dropped quite a few bristles initially but not more than expected since. Ferrule is secure, handle is cheap wood but easy to hold and sturdy.Effectiveness: B—Worked perfectly for dry bushing my Warhammer minis, but the two bigger sizes were too big. They'd be helpful if I was working on any environmental pieces, though. I would suggest washing them before use because I didn't and the number of bristles that came out in that initial use was more than expected, and a pain to pick off my Nighthaunts.Value: B—Very inexpensive $8.98 for set of 5, quality is a little lower than brushes from my local game store, but the price is much lower. I think the quality/price tradeoff here works for me; I'm not expecting these brushes to stay in good, usable quality for as long as a brush that costs $3-4, but I did get an army's worth of perfectly drybrushing done for under $10.

I picked these brushes for miniature painting, and so far, I haven't been disappointed. Relative to the value, this set is an amazing value for a beginner miniature painter. The brushes are all of fine quality, and not overly absorbative (which is good for dry brushing). The stick feels a little light and flimsy, but the bristles are really sturdy. I haven't had any issues with bristle loss or clumping. They're fairly easy to clean with water; I haven't needed to use any brush cleaner on them yet, and haven't had issues with the bristles deforming/clumping up.This set is a great starter option, and with the large range of sizes, it is useful for a variety of projects. I used it for some of the details in Banshees wings in the attached image. All in all, this is a great value find, and I would highly recommend it!

For dry brushing, the bristles are not very firm. In fact they are very soft. It's not a easy set to use as actual dry brushing is intended. They brush head is too soft and gives way too much to dry brush properly. I've been doing dry brush work since 1984. These are not what I would recommend for dry brush work.
