This is my fourth pair of keen Braddock work boots. I work in maintenance in a prison and must walk in mud, water and rough terrain. My feet are always warm, dry and comfortable. I always clean them when they get dirty and apply waterproofing to the leather to keep the leather soft. I get two years plus out of every pair. I’ve bought Red Wings, and they don’t come close to the comfort that these boots provide. I have never experienced much of a break in period like I have with other boots. The key is keeping them clean and keeping the leather soft with a good waterproofing paste. I always get compliments on my boots and people are always asking me what brand they are. And when they see the familiar triangle on the corner of the boot tip, then they know they are Keens. 😊

After several months I have to say these are some of the best boots I’ve ever worn. Get the half size larger as recommended! I did the back and forth and found the toe box too small (because of its cut) on my regular size. They are comfortable right out of the box and need no break in period. They are waterproof up till about mid foot and hold up to the heaviest of rain storms. The soles are still like new and don’t smell! I work outside 60+ hours a week in all conditions and they do not get hotter than any other boot I’ve worn. They’re also lighter than the competition. SO WHAT!! They aren’t your Timb Pro Directs or Cat or anything else construction orientated BECAUSE THEY ARE BETTER!! 10/10 will purchase from KEEN again. And no I’m not a paid reviewer, they’re that good!

I was looking for new work boots and decided to replace my Red Wings with Keen work boots. Not a good choice. The problem is the hooks that Keen uses. The hooks grip the laces which keeps the shoe tight....so far so good. But only below the hooks and not around your ankle. The problem comes with having only one set of hooks and the gripping style of hooks. Both of these design features mean that the bow you tie in front does not keep the tongue in place. The tongue only has the single lace/bow to hold it in place instead of two like my Red Wings. It doesn't work because it is impossible to tie it tight enough and the bow slips down therefore allowing the tongue to push out forward. I am in the landscape business and wear these with shorts in warmer weather. I now have a soil and mulch funnel directly into my shoe.I love Keen (have three pair) but I am going to go back to my Red Wings next time.

First off, believe the reviews that tell you tell go up a half size. I have a pair of Keen hiking boots in a 10 that fit perfect. I decided to order these the same and had to return them for a 10.5. They're comfortable right out of the box though and pretty light for steel toes. My only complaint is that the laces always end up over the tongue after a few hours. I'm not sure if the hooks on these are a little high or what, but I don't find it to be a major concern. They're still comfortable all day.
