Easy on and off...don’t pinch off circulation like some more expensive boots do. The grips are a bit slippery on rocks, and there isn’t a lot of support in the boot, but I like the tall height and simplicity. They wear well, and are fine for most purposes.

2nd pair I have owned, bought cheaper brand after my first pair of Lacrosse wore out, big mistake. Never buy another brand of rubber boots again because of quality and fit of Lacrosse grange boots.

Feel great, not too heavy and cumbersome.

Having owned what were for over 30 years really superior boots, the Hunter Wellie, that company has let their quality slip and my last pair only lasted a dozen of so wears before the soles cracked and leaked. Then too, Hunter would not stand behind their product and offer any form of satisfaction to my complaints. So now to find a boot and manufacturer that can be trusted. Enter LaCrosse. These boots nearly meet all I require, but for one factor. I have a fairly narrow foot (size B), so my problem may not be an issue for others with wider feet. For me, the loose fit is most an issue at the heel, where it is easy to get off center and the boot heel does not fall firmly under my weight. This means for hiking, it is possible to twist my ankle climbing over a rock or log. I never had this problem with the Hunter, where I could wear the boots with security over just about any terrain. There are some features I find superior to the Hunter. The lugging on the sole is a bit more aggressive. The boot is taller by almost two inches. This is great because I spend a lot of time working in swamps and ponds. I especially like how the boot top cinches. The Hunters had a cheap metal buckle that seemed more for appearance than function. The LaCrosse buckle is a cam locking type that adjusts easily and releases with a flick. At this writing, I've only worn the boots a half dozen times, but they are performing adequately. Should I experience any issues, I will amend this review.Amendment: I purchased these boots November 2016, less than seven months ago. The rubber at the ankle has cracked and the boots now leak. I shall take this up with LaCrosse with the hope they will take responsibility for the very poor performance of their product.Amendment 2: LaCrosse sent a replacement pair of boots after I sent them the original pair for them to evaluate the problem. I have now had these boots less than a year. They have cracked at the ankle just as the original pair did. I have contacted them again and wait for a reply. Crazy! Can't anyone make a good pair of boots anymore?

The boot fits great once its on, but the ankle area for sliding the boot on is a little narrow. It is quite difficult to get off. The boot has held up well through all sorts of weather and mud. The narrowness of the ankle is nice once its on though because it helps keep out debris that may have flung up over the boot.
