I am reviewing the silver version of this ring. While this tie ring will probably do the job okay, the steel is lightweight and almost feels like aluminum in my hands, and the magnet is not strong. In comparison to similar products, I would say this one is on the poor quality end. I would not purchase this again, nor would I recommend it as the best one out there to purchase. Also, the product does not come with instructions for tying the horse properly using this ring, so make sure you look up a reliable source to understand how the ring works and how to tie it properly. Do not use the listing photos as a reference to learn to tie, it is shown incorrectly.

I've had tie rings like this before, but this version has a couple issues I haven't encountered. First off, the hook part is too small to fit around the extension on the side of my trailer where I normally tie my horses. (Other versions have fit there just fine.) Also, the hook stays open unless you intentionally close it, rather than self-closing. Finally, the way the pieces are attached means that the ring will be perpendicular to the surface of whatever you hook it to.If you use the provided loop-head screw to attach the tie ring to a wooden surface, then the size of the hook will be irrelevant, because it does fit nicely over the screw. And having the crosspiece that holds the lead rope in place be held in place with magnets is a good feature.Overall, this is nice and sturdy, and looks like it would last a long time. Just be careful that it meets your expectations and needs.
