Very happy with this purchase. I made the mistake of buying a cheaper drive and had to return it because it didn’t work. For the LG drive, all I had to do is plug it in and use my burning software and it worked as promised.

Bought this device after I borrowed the same one from my public library to transfer data and photos. This unit worked perfectly by just plugging it into a USB port on my Windows 11 notebook computer. It it small enough to keep in my notebook case so it’s always there when I need it. The price was great and easy to use.

I have had this model LG DVD / CD writer for about 7 years. I've used it a lot, and it has worked flawlessly until recently. Maybe a couple of years ago it started refusing to stay closed, so I've been using blue painter's tape each time I put a CD into it. This year I have a lot of CDs I want to import from my large collection, so I decided to replace it with something easier to use. I tried another brand, which initially worked, then started acting out in multiple ways and none of the suggested remedies worked. I returned it, and decided the LG had treated me well for so long, I'd just get the same one again. My new LG drive has been working great. I'm hoping the problem with my former one's drawer popping open doesn't appear one this one, or at least not for another good long while, because everything else about this drive is seamless. I've used it both with a MacBook Air and with my current 2019 MacBook Pro.

This is a great DVD writer and CD ROM drive combo. It runs off of the USB cable and fits perfectly in my laptop bag. It is very quiet and runs great!
