I am loving this paper for watercolor. The size is just right too. I only wish it was not perforated so i can do a two page spread.

Such a great little journal! I use the hot pressed paper version for exclusively gouache and it performs very well. The paper has a smooth texture with a bit of tooth and handles water and layers easily!

I love this journal and have been traveling with it for almost a year now! I don't actually use the paper in the journal -- which you can. I cut up pieces of Arches watercolor paper for my paintings and then tape them into the journal after I'm done. But I like that I can still write on the page. The pocket in the back is really helpful to hold paper. Plus, the cover of the journal holds up really nice and the rubber band is very secure.

Overall, this is a great little journal. It is slightly smaller than a traditional A5, with cotton paper. My only complaint is that the paper texture is inconsistent. Some of the cold press textured pages are on the left, and hot press textures on the right, and vise versa. It's not consistent at all. However, for the price, it's not a deal breaker. I hope Lightwish will make larger versions of this journal.

Arrived covered in mold spots! Very disappointed because the size, color, and details are great for nature Journaling. The elastic band is excellent for field work and prevents the wind from blowing the pages over while painting. The perforated edges are a great touch making it super easy to tear out pages from the sketchbook. The paper is 100% cotton which is ideal because it allows for a multitude of watercolor techniques, such as lifting. The texture of the paper isn't too rough either which typically allows for the creation of crisp edges and precise details. Also the price point is fair too. I'm an educator and was looking for a sketchbook to purchase for my students. Unfortunately, I'm unable to hand out during class because it's covered in mold spots. I even ordered another one as a replacement thinking it might be a fluke. Nope. Both are covered in mold spots which is not healthy to touch let alone keep in a bag to do any kind of nature journaltkr even urban sketching. Be careful!!! Mold can cause serious health issues. Make sure you view your sketchbook at an angle under a lamp if you see any circles such as the ones in the photos, that is mold spots!!! Seems as if using a cover that is resistant to mold is necessary especially since it's probably happening during shipping and storage. Returning it, again! Very disappointed.
