Perfect for what I needed. I bought this to work on seams on the clothes I buy. Specifically, I like to use a seam ripper to remove tags & sometimes the back-right pocket on sweatpants. I needed this magnifier especially for the latter task. Sometimes the seams are so tiny that to work on them visually unaided means you could really mess the fabric up. This was brilliant. And the circle light in 3 casts was something I didn't even know I needed. Maneuverable & pliant. A+

La lupa no tiene manera de ajustarse a menos que la muevas de tamaño. Muy útil, llegó en excelentes condiciones, buena luz (puedes controlar la intensidad). Lo único es que debe estar conectada en todo momento.

First - What the HECK is the Amazon rating feature "SHEERNESS" What galaxy is this from???I was impressed with the build quality and overall functionality of this magnifier. It has a heavy base, great gooseneck, great paint finish, and a good lighting pattern. It is a SHAME that the dimmer is so non-functional. In fact, I will say that there is NO DIMMER on this product. It is a "soft start" light. When you touch the power switch the light starts at a low level that quickly and automatically goes to a "Max" brightness. Perhaps is it a translation problem.

Most reviewers discuss hand held tasks but my need is to view a seashell collection at counter level. My collection is in clear plastic compartment containers and I found that I needed to elevate the display about 3 inches above the counter and position the glass about 3 inches above a given shell. The goose neck might eventually be bent to get low enough without elevating the display, but the lamp would tip over. Optically the lamp is very comfortable for viewing the shells. I can use both eyes at just about any reasonable height and there's plenty of leeway to move my head about. The light brightness works well without any other light in the room. The shells look great even when the clear plastic lid is closed without any reflection or glare. The depth of field on the larger shells is so good that the entire shell is close to in focus and I experienced a kind of '3-D effect'. Finally there wasn't any noticeable drop-off of brightness or focus at the edges of the lens. I think the ring light with the built in diffuser makes for this exceptional viewing. As for the brightness control, just use a light touch and it works fine. I believe this magnifying lamp is perfect for close-up viewing of small 3 dimensional collectables. It really adds to my enjoyment of my new shell collection.

I bought this item to read D&D books because the print has gotten so tiny in them it's almost impossible for me to read anything. I had a bad COVID relapse or I simply caught it for the 2nd time - who knows. At any rate, I didn't open the box to use it until long after it was shipped to me.I thought it was supposed to have a battery you charged. Either my battery is dead as a doornail or that's not the case. I have to keep it plugged in for it to work. Even while it is working, it doesn't work well when you want to read a whole page. The curve of the magnifying glass itself narrows down the area immensely that is magnified at the same percentage rate which would allow you to read an entire page without constantly moving the glass around. You CAN read a large block of the page if you get the magnifying glass twisted to just the right point above the text, but it is still a strange read as the glass is small and a circle as opposed to a rectangular shape which would allow you to read the entire page with the light on it.I found the only thing that this magnifying glass did well was to magnify jewelry enough to allow me to repair it. My conclusion is if you have one item you need to magnify for research or a specific task in which the area of magnification can be kept to the center of the glass, this is a good option you can use it with two free hands. It's less of a good option if you're trying to read complete pages of a players guide hardcover book like Tasha's Cauldron of Everything. It'd be nice if they made one with a more square lighted glass so you could read an ENTIRE page of an 8½" by 11" book. That way you could twist the glass into just the right position and read all of it until you had to go to the next page. Just a thought.UPDATE: I bought this product in 2020 and as you see above didn't use it for quite a while. I was using it to read a book when I noticed this was a great light for my very small computer desk. I could leave it on the end table next to the sofa where my computer desk is and the light is so bright I wouldn't have to keep the kitchen light on (which in summer in Florida just makes more heat and causes the air conditioner to work harder). It was perfect because I plugged it directly into my computer which is next to my end table; it didn't need an electrical outlet.Well, it's February of 2022 and I just went to turn it on and the magnifying glass part of it just cracked and fell off (see picture). I would have taken a picture of the actual break, but there are two tiny wires where the metal arm meets the plastic glass holder and I was afraid if I didn't get it taped up immediately, not to mention I didn't know how I was going to take the picture and hold the broken item up at the same time, that I'd break the wires. Now I'm freaking out a bit because this item has never fallen down anywhere. I'm the only one who lives in my apartment and the item has a nice heavy base so it's not going anywhere unless you throw something or someone into it. The light controls are super sensitive so you only need a whisper touch to turn it off and on. I will say that this item has been acting freakish in the last couple of months. Sometimes it turns off by itself and I just turn it back on until it stops turning itself off. You barely have to touch it to turn it on so it's no sweat on my behalf. At any rate, I took a picture of where I had to tape it. If you've owned this for a couple of years you might want to reinforce that joint with black duct tape (be sure not to cover the area that controls how bright it gets when you turn it on). I don't know if it's the weight of the magnifying head that caused the failure of the plastic joint where it screws into the metal arm or what, but better safe than sorry. I'm going to be honest, for as much as I've used it as a light for my computer desk, It's more than paid for itself by allowing me to save electricity by not having on the big ceiling lights which causes the air conditioner to run more.
