Having used an assortment of low voltage connectors, these have proved to be the best, mostly because of their simplicity and ease of affixing 12 gauge wire to lighter gauge wire leads of the outdoor lamp.

I bought the low voltage connectors as the are the same type that came with the low voltage landscape lighting I installed. They are a very good and easy connector to use. I wanted to ensure there was no way for moisture to get into the connector so after connecting and testing the lights I sealed the entire connector in liquid electrical tape (this is probably unnecessary). After about a week of using the lights I realized that I needed to relocate two. Since they were “sealed” I was unable to reuse the original connectors and ordered these as replacements and extras should I decide to change the lighting layout in the future. (I just cut the wire leading to the original position and leave that connector in place and dip the cut end in the liquid electrical tape to seal it. Works great!

Quick to install and make a better connection than the connectors most original landscape lights used to come with

These connectors are value priced and work well . Easy to install , appear durable , and are a good value . I do like the single connectors that are quicker when installing as they clamp into both lines at the same time but cost wise these are less expensive and still get the job done .

I'm redoing my lights from about 20 years ago. The old system used these larger vampire clamps with 2 blades that pierce the wire. They did fairly well over the years, but were always hard to use and flaky. These connectors are MUCH more robust! They attach well and provide a secure connection on most wires. I struggled to get these to connect properly to my 12 gauge trunk lines. The 12 gauge wires spread the 2 halves of the connector, making it hard to screw down the other part without cross threading. On 14 gauge wire I had no such difficulty--except when I got really tired. The part you attach the lights is the smaller end and works well with most of the lights I bought. They do not work well with 22-24 gauge wires, like one set of lights I bought. For those, I had to solder on feeder lines that will then feed into these connectors. Just loosen the small end and jam the wire from your light into it. Push until you feel it seat really well, then screw down the cap. Give it a little tug to make sure it's seated firmly, and you're good to go!
