Great design. Solid welds and all lock nuts. Spent a few minutes unpacking and checking parts. Then about an hour assembling making every nut bolt hand tight, everything fit together perfectly. Was late and had other things going on. The next morning broke out a small adjustable wrench and socket set took about another hour tightening nuts and bolts. So working solo it took 2 hours and a few minutes to assemble. Really happy with this folding bench, it’s solid and folds saving space.Later add to review: after actually using this I have to add that this is not meant for the hard core muscle head. The bench is a little wide and on the short side. The leg press attachment front press is short and a quick release to remove the leg press would make it even smaller for storage. FYI I’m 5’7” and 170 lbs. and I’m fairly good shape. All in all this is an excellent bench for what and who it’s designed for.

Unless you are a female power lifter this bench will do for more lighter and smaller people or those just starting out. As an older woman I am not planning on doing anything of the sort since the Dr. nixed anything like that for me in the first place. Lighter weights are fine. If you are aspiring to become a Power Lifter this will do as a starter. But for us older set, this is perfect Girls!! And if you have guests over just fold it up and out of the way and you have your space back. All pieces and hardware were packaged very well and nicely organized. No missing parts on this one. Instructions were well.......interesting. Some parts didn't match the ones on the sheet. So from the Preacher Curl pad to completion it was "By guess and by Golly". There was a lot of that. BUT.....no leftover parts. So I musta done something right. I did the assembly on my own in about 2 hrs. Some of that time was spent figuring out the Preacher pad to parts etc.. Barbell work is also interesting. Width of barbell is important so you avoid pinching fingers. Mine is 6 ft. which does make for a rather delicate release and reset of the barbell to the uprights. I just have to be careful where my hands are in relation to those uprights is all. They are rather narrow. I would recommend this bench for anyone who just wants to get into basic fitness and not turn into Charles Atlas unless you want to START to turn into Charles Atlas. I have had a ton of Marcy products over a lifetime thus far and all have been very good and very durable. I have no doubts that this will do same.

I'd give it more like 3.5 stars if I could. In some ways I'm kind of on the fence about it, but since it's good enough for my needs and the price was right, I'll go with 4 stars. (Although it did arrive with 2 parts missing, I contacted Marcy / Impex and within 48 hours they shipped me the missing parts, about 5-7 days for the whole process, so that saved this review from being 2 stars). As you probably can tell, this is for the casual fitness person and not professionals or more discerning fitness enthusiasts. This is for "Standard" size bars and NOT "Olympic" size.If you're looking for a "serious" all in one unit, this isn't it. Definitely not for body builders.BUT for the PRICE this is GOOD enough for a beginner of small to medium stature who just need something affordable for maybe just getting into fitness. I fall into that category - an older guy with only a small space for a workout station, and I only do moderate workouts a few times a week.SOME PROS:- It's pretty well made / quality for the price range- IMO it's decent enough size for someone up to 5'7" tall if they're not a bulky person- The posts and most of the unit are much more sturdy and stable than I expected at this price- For what it does, it doesn't take up very much space and the fact that it folds up is great- The uprights are nice and stable, as are the base pieces- The parts fit together well for me during assembly and the painted metal parts seem quality painted- Despite the lack of any written instructions, it's fairly easy to assemble (check YouTube - there's a guy who made a very helpful video for putting it together)SOME CONS:- The preacher curl pad and leg system are kind of gimmicky and not up to part with the rest of the unit- The pads on the leg system are small, not very comfortable, and it's obvious they're not going to last long- The preacher curl pad, in my case, cannot go low enough and it bruises my chest. It needs some padding behind it or something.- The leg system is very narrow, so unless you have slim legs it's not very practical, makes leg work uncomfortable- I really don't have much good to say about the curl pad / leg system...- The uprights are going to be a little to close together for some people - I'm 5'7", 175lbs, and the bar holder are right exactly where I want to position my hands for bench pressing, so it's kind of hard to position myself to not slam my hands into the uprightsSo why still give it 4 stars? Because:A.) The company responded quickly regarding the missing partsB.) It's a good enough all-in-one unit for a casual / beginner / lighter-use kind of person like me who just wants to stay fitC.) The price is very good for what you get, so it's an especially good bargain for someone buying for a teen who is just getting startedBut if you're a bigger / bulky person, or if you're looking to get into "serious" weightlifting, this is not for you and you should go all Olympic (which means you're going to need to step up in product class / spend more money on what you really need.Sorry if this review is confusing at all, I'm just in a love/hate situation with it. I like it, but it's definitely a compromise for what I'd really like to have instead.
