The U shaped piece that’s supposed to fit under the tone ring to pull it off doesn’t fit. Too tall. I had to modify the tool to get the job done. It’s a specialty tool, I shouldn’t have to do that.

Worked without issue. I’m pretty sure anyone bending these is not removing the c clip before trying to press the bearing

This tool worked great. 4 stars because like others had said, the Tone Ring/Bearing Keeper Driver doesn't quite fit around the machined end of the axle. I just put it on my Lathe and turned the inside down a few thousands and it worked great. Others just used a grinding tool to accomplish this. Still it is a good value if you're willing to spend about 30 min to fix it.

This bearing tool made replacing the rear bearing on my son's Tacoma an easy job. Risk of damage to the parts or hurting yourself is minimized. This unit is shorter than a lot of others I had looked at. I don't think the length really matters much, but I do wonder what the extra extension tube of the others actually did. You will need a shop press to properly use this tool. We have a manual 20 ton press and it worked just fine. If you do your own work on your truck then this tool will absolutely pay for itself the first time you use it.

All in all I have no regrets about buying this for replacing the rear bearings on my 2007 Toyota 4Runner. The kits I found on ebay with the exaxt parts needed to do the complete job were twice as much as this tool so even though i had to buy/borrow more tools this was still cheaper that the ebay kit.The good part: the puller mechanism is rock solid and had no trouble removing the rear bearings in a 20 ton press. Notice the kit comes with lots of extra nuts - use them, putting a single nut on the bolts wasn't enough to withstand the pressure during removal. i added a second set of nuts and that did the trick. The bad part: The bearing race thats left after the bearing is removed can NOT be removed with this kit. The U shaped part is too thick to fit between the race and the hub. I had to get a race puller from Harbor Freight for another $35 to do that. The I beam bearing puller in this kit bolted directly to the HF race puller - worked like a charm! If you find the right ebay kit the U plate has a thin shelf inside the U that slides under the race. The other bad part: the tube with the flange that came with the kit doesn't fit over the thicker part of the shaft so can't be used to drive the new bearing assembly back onto the shaft. I rented a "ball joint servicing kit" from O-Reilys (free rental) - the smallest tube in that kit is perfect for driving everything on.
