I am painting with watercolor and this palette keeps the paint from drying hard. The consistency is quickly refreshed with water.

I love this smaller palette. With 12 wells it works great to simply squeeze a small amount from tube and enough wells to accommodate the number of colors I usually need. Good space for mixing. Very easy to clean. The wells are one inch square so woukd hold pans but the sides are maybe only 1/8 inch max and pans would slide around. Not deep enough. My go to palette.

Well, one could argue the perfect companion to paint is brushes, but to me they go together without mention... This little palette though, this companion is a choice!!! Let me tell you, I got it on a day my health has me in bed, but my excitement to watercolor, just to use this palette, cannot be muted! The quality starts with the box it comes in. It's the perfect size, and it's wrapped on every edge with cushioning for travel. When I was it in the box and was struck by how perfect this size is. It's about the size of my entire hand, but it's exactly what I had been looking for. The glazing on it is smooth and visually consistent. I only see one teeny tiny blemish (last pic), but this doesn't feel different under my finger and I don't anticipate it doing anything to effect the paint. Also, it does not make me want to remove any even fractions of stars! On the one side, there are 12, 1"sq small sections, with one half being a large area to mix paint in..... But, if you are looking for more of an open area, you can use this on it's flipside and gain all those sq's as mixing space instead (second pic).I find the value here to be huge! One of the neat things about this palette is that it isn't bulky. I am going to buy a second one, and it will take up the same space in all dimensions, that my old rectangular palette does, but now I'll have double the area to work with.Thank you for crafting this perfect palette and putting it into the world for us to create with.... You can tell the maker must be an artist themself... I'm so thrilled!

I really like this palette so far for watercolors. My only real complaint is that it is much more of an off-white color (yellowish) vs. my other palettes. See the photo for comparison to one and a piece of Stonehenge Aqua CP (and Strathmore 400 behind it). It's more noticeable in person, but I like do like the layout, so I'll give it a shot.Having the option to use the back as a large mixing tray is great, just note that you will likely need to sit it on a piece of drawer liner when doing so as the glazed edges on the 12-well side make it very slippery (it will slide around easily). There was one very rough edge on the bottom that I cleaned up with some 200 grit sandpaper since they're not glazed. It would be nice if it came with a plastic cover to keep dust (and in our case Corgi hair) out of the paint.
