See my review for the associated IDC retro fit kit. This is for 0.1" IDC ribbon connectors and nothing to do with female socket transition connectors!The block fits loosely in the base plate, some masking tape works well to keep it from moving around. Standard 0.1" IDC connectors also wriggle around (the cross groove into which the polarizing bump fits is quite wide). A piece of flat telephone cable worked well jammed into the slot pushing the IDC connector snugly against one side of the groove.If PanaVise were smart they would have made this so much better. One block could have several pitches of IDC connector. And could have been designed so that you couldn't get the IDC connector reversed.
