The bottom line- these work when used correctly. They are a nice option for those of us that have shrimp or sensitive livestock that can't handle medicating the tank.Pros:- durable glass that has handled a few bumps and bangs without breaking.- Small openings let in planaria and other flatworms but keep out (most) small snails.- Can be sterilized.- Non-medicated.Cons:- Has to be emptied and reset daily to really work.- Smells ATROCIOUS when emptying and cleaning.- Learning curve trying to keep filled food from going into tank and simultaneously getting the traps to sink.- Not a quick fix.

Not sure I should give this a 2 star review to be honest, because maybe it's OK for leeches or baby shrimp. But I was recommended this to catch scuds but they never went in because the holes were too small.

Used 2 of theses in my 40 breeder and 20, popped a few chunks of algae wafers, left overnight. It the miring all 4 tubes were quite full of planaria. Planer is there in the tank forever (unless I take it apart), but it’s not crawling all over. I will repeat once or twice a week as a preemptive strike. But it definitely works.

I'd say this is a wonderful trap; just put a little food in, fill it up, then gently set it on your substrate.I noticed a planaria in my shrimp tank when feeding, and decided to order these traps. You get two traps, and within a day my trap had caught two planaria! Truly, a win. Worth it, it probably can last a lifetime.
