Pros: I bought this tent wanting to relive my childhood fort glory days as an adult, and it definitely accomplishes this. It's cozy and comforting and believe it or not helps on days when you're feeling down or depressed. It's something to do with the womb-like closed-in space it creates. Makes laptop movie nights truely cozy, like you're in your own little movie theater/your own little world. It blocks out light very well for those who work nights or have strange sleeping patterns that require sleeping during the daytime. It creates privacy, for any of the reasons you might need it.It's warm inside which would be good for winter. And I personally like being warm at night. If you don't like your pet on your bed I imagine having this tent would be a good solution.Cons: This tent was very difficult to put together, not because it's complicated but because of how massive it is and also having to take your mattress off your bed to be able to use it properly. This was info that I could not find anywhere, I kind of just assumed it went on top of, or tucked around your mattress, but nope. You have to take your whole mattress off your bed and put it inside the tent for it to stand properly without sagging to one side. I nearly knocked over my lamp and nail polish rack on the opposite side of the room trying to do all this...if you have a small or crowded bedroom good luck assembling this. And there are no instructions included either. While I did set it up by myself, it would have been far easier with 2 people. The bottom poles would not fit in the bedframe so I had to take them out...other than that it was the perfect size for my twin size ikea bed.Tent still sags slightly to the side even with mattress inside of it but it's functional.I wish they made a way for the whole thing to collapse or zip apart completly in case you're in bed in the middle of the day for some reason or for if people visit. It would make it easier than having to take your mattress off and back on and disassemble the whole thing over and over. Making it foldable or something, while still being attached to your bed would be nice for the daytime, and then pop it back open when youre ready to get into bed...which leads me to my next con. This thing is not only an eyesore (its ugly!) but blocks your view even with all the 'windows' open all the way. It is surprisingly dark inside, again even with all the windows unzipped. I have a large window in my room with a nice view of greenery and I can't see it when I'm in my bed now. Furthermore, if I'm lounging in bed during the day, a lot of sunlight is blocked out which I personally don't like. Now if I'm sleeping during the day, the darkness is perfect; but when I'm wide awake at midday just trying to relax and scroll on my phone while laying down (don't judge me), I don't like the darkness! It gets surprisingly warm and stuffy inside. I keep the smaller windows open at all times because of this. Also because I vape and have a cat that likes to sleep on my bed, I have to keep blowing the smoke out of the little window. Keep your pet in mind too when zipping yourself and them inside, they obviously need access to come and go, unless you don't want them on your bed at all.Once zipped up, you obviously won't have access to your nightstand and chargers and stuff. I keep the window partly open on one side to be able to reach tissues, water etc.In the evening it gets dark and I have yet to work out a solution for having light inside the tent without starting a fire (a fire would be a nightmare inside this thing).I don't think this product is worth $90, I personally think it's more of a $45-50 value. All in all, I'm giving this 4 stars because once it's set up, it's pretty sweet. Mainly taking off a star because of the set up, how ugly and bulky it is to visitors/maintainence workers (kind of embaressing), and the price.

I chose this tent bed because it seemed best quality in bed tents. It was easy to set up. It seems really well made though I would be careful with children as they can play rough. Now it does not completely block out light but is most certainly very helpful if like me you work overnight and need that extra darkness. Keep in mind that with all flaps down there will be a noticeable restriction of air flow. I keep the small window flaps down (not zippered) to keep out the light. If left open you would of course get more air flow and they also have a screen in addition to the flap. I leave the large side flap partially unzipped on one side to allow airflow and down but completely unzipped on the side I get in and out of bed. Caution should be used if you intend to completely zip it. You should know where the zippers are to access in emergency or keep this partially unzipped do you will know for sure where the opening is. I stress again use caution with kids as well as yourself. I do feel overall this is a safe product. As for design there are two support poles at top that you insert into a thin sleeve during assembly. The center of the roof sags a bit and I wish they used one more of these poles at center of the roof. But this really is a very nice product and well made. Even though fabric of roof sags a bit at center it is very sturdy and you will not have to worry about this collapsing on you. A little expensive, but Im sure a lot went into designing this fine product. I recommend. Oh one more thing about design that could be improved: there are small straps that can be used to hold the large flaps open and the snap in INSANLY strong. It was so hard to reopen them one closed and I feared I would damage the fabric—not that the product is flimsy, the saps are just too strong! I recommend the change them to Velcro. I will be sewing on extensions so that I will just tie the flaps up rather than use the snaps. It was quite annoying to undo them and I felt I risked damaging this not inexpensive product. Meanwhile when I want it open I just flip the flap up over the roof.

The many reviews mentioning suddenly improved sleep patterns, especially in children, make perfect sense, if only because this product instantly blocks Closet Monsters. You can’t see them, they can’t see you. And yet, even though I vanquished my monsters many many years ago, I was surprised by sudden and near-miraculous improvement in my own sleep. Apparently I was more disturbed at night by streetlights and passing cars than I realized.Even though this is made of thin nylon, even though it’s really just a giant windbreaker, I also sleep more warmly -- on the north side of a drafty old house. When I awoke this January morning it was 3 degrees F outside. The room was 59 but inside the bed tent, outside the covers, it was a cozy 71. No more cold nose.It could be even warmer by throwing a sheet or very light blanket over the top. Nothing heavy, because it will collapse. It is flimsy because it has to be. It's a thin fabric cube self-supported by flexible poles and springs designed for light weight and portability. Support at the bottom comes from the mattress inside. The top of the tent WILL sag and tilt and torque unless bounded by the frame of a bunk bed, poster bed or equivalent.OTOH, none of that matters much in the dark.OTOH, because it is so springy, you can trigger an influx of outside (warmer? cooler?) air, by opening the end windows, then pumping the whole assembly like a bellows which can be done simply by poking the sides or ceiling with your toe.OTOH, shoving a metal grid panel (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TH3QESS/) between the mattress and the wall it stands against immediately corrected the tilt problem besides providing a sturdy spot for hooks to hang a CD rack. Some have commented on the difficulty of zipping it fully closed. The seaming for side panels and zippers may be a bit too tight on some. Rather than strain the zipper by forcing it around the curve, zip UP from the bottom. Or, just leave those few inches open for air. Air is good. One could pin a little towel or curtain there, if desired. As is, the gap is useful for peeking out at the alarm clock because the black fabric is too light-dimming to see the illuminated numbers through the wall. Before putting it up, locate the opening for power cords. Mine ended up with the power opening on the ceiling. The cord for a reading light passes through that unzippable part (which now, a month later, has relaxed enough to zip just fine). Not worth redoing, for that and another reason. Some reviewers mention the bother of rolling up the side, or snaps that have broken. Because mine is upside down, when opened, the side wall just falls gracefully down to the floor, hiding the Under-The-Bed books and shoes. So basically, it's an update to the canopy bed, not the tulle-draped Disney princess fantasy ones, but the old traditional life-saving winter ones. Our ancestors draped them with heavy curtains to survive winter cold by body-heating a smaller enclosed space. This would have been especially important if living in a big drafty house (even Ebenezer Scrooge invested in dark, heavy bed-curtains) or a windswept castle tower (like the children at Hogwarts). The Privacy Pop is an emergency / pre-fab / portable version of that or the traditional blanket tent under the chairs. For those concerned about the price, a simple frame with curtains -- even of nothing more than dark sheets -- would accomplish the same or greater privacy, light-blocking, and draft control. Still, the zippered design provides extra value.Zipping the openings shut is so much more firm and final than merely closing curtains that can be stirred, fluttered, or easily swept aside again by ghostly hands or zombies. Because the tent wraps around the mattress, it automatically blocks snakes and all other Under-the-Bed Monsters from crawling up and in. When I was a kid, my Under-the-Bed was home to the giant squid from "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea." My sister had the snakes from "Gunga Din." Today it seems to me that even those terrors would lose their power over the child (or adult) tucked safely inside this simple but magically protective refuge.
