At this point, I've sampled (4) different listings of guitar hangers. This one is my favorite in every possible category.First, installing this hanger is easy. The load plate secures with (2) screws, which then gets covered up by the faceplate. This set includes a piece of felt to go under the load plate, over the wall, so that the wall doesn't get dented at all. It's very sturdy, and can be installed in ANY orientation! I installed mine horizontally on a furring strip over an exterior brick wall. Then, once the load plate is screwed in, I just manually screw in the hanger fork. Voila! This holds the faceplate in place, and it looks great! The forks are VERY sturdy and hold an electric guitar, bass, and acoustic just fine. I really like that they have little felt rings around the ends to minimize the chance that my instrument would slip off the end. This design is perfect, and way better than any other hangers.

This product mounts strong and feels very high quality, metal pieces, well padded, and 2 minutes to install. Highly recommend.

This Guitar Hanging system appears to be very heavy duty. The hanger screws into a heavy duty plate BUT that heavy duty plate does not rest on the wall the way that I believe was intended. As it stands the heavy duty plate just transfers all of the forces to a lighter duty outer decorative housing. 15 lbs was listed as the maximum design weight for this holder.2-Sheetrock anchors are supplied that allow the guitar to be hung at any point in the wall. I would consider finding a wooden joist behind the sheet rock, and anchoring the plate to the joist. There is an outer casing that when the hanging hook is screwed into it, the hook pulls the heavy duty plate away from the sheet rock, so the outer casing ends up taking all of the weight of the guitar.Unless hanging hook is screwed tightly into the the heavy duty inner plate, the hook itself will rotate easily creating the potential of the guitar dropping if care isn't used in placing the guitar into the holder. Either tighten the hook so it does not rotate easily, or use a "Thread Locker" to "glue" the threads in place. I would recommend a medium strength thread locker so that the hanging hook can be unscrewed if an individual wanted to change the position of the guitar holder. (Note, Amazon sells Medium Strength Thread Locker.)

This is a sturdy guitar hanger that also looks pretty good. It is fairly plain in appearance, but that is okay with me. It is pretty much all metal construction including the Mounting Plate, Decorative Cover, Metal Sleeve, and Guitar Hanger itself. The hanger has foam sleeves to protect the guitar plus foam stoppers at the ends of the hanger to retain the guitar neck. According to the information on the box, this will hold an instrument that weighs up to 15 lbs.One thing that I particularly liked about this hanger is that the two mounting holes are aligned vertically, allowing the mounting screws to be attached to a stud. The hanger comes with drywall anchors, but my preference is attachment to studs. My music room is not ready for guitar hanging yet, but I set up a test rig to try out this hanger so I could evaluate it before getting more. I hung my Fender Jazz bass and Frankenstrat (Squire Strat body with 60’s Jazzmaster neck) with this hanger. It handled both nicely. The hanger itself can be adjusted to match the angle of a Fender headstock. The foam padding appeared to do a good job of protecting the headstock and I believe that the bass and guitar I tried were retained well. The hanger extends far enough from the wall so that the body of the instruments did not contact the wall. I did not try an acoustic, so I can’t stay the same for that. One thing to note is that, when I did a test mounting the hanger on a piece of pine, the decorative cover left a small impression in the wood. I assume that the same would happen with drywall. Not a big deal for me, but worth being aware of.Overall, I liked this hanger and would not hesitate to get more for the rest of my collection.
