I did a lot of research on these steps before I bought this one. This is the one my PT place uses at their practice. It’s sturdy and larger which is an improved from the old steps back in the 80s and 90s. The rubber step area is adhered on and not coming off. It’s nice and sturdy when stepping in it. I recommend.

This step bench is the same as the ones I've been using in fitness clubs for 10+ years. Thick, stiff material that gets pounded 5 day/week by a 6'1", 200 lb. man. With 4 risers you can adjust to 2 heights, which makes this more useful for weights and dips. Risers fit easily and securely. Does not slide on smooth tile floor and does not tip/wobble.(Bonus points for being Made in MONTANA -- NOT China)

I bought this step as an upgrade from my original step I bought over 25 years ago and I love it! I love the versatility with the universal risers and the tread on top. Although when I received my step the tread had quite a few air bubbles in it. I just took a sewing needle and popped them then smoothed the tread out now it’s perfection. Very happy with my purchase, I would never buy a cheaper brand.

This step is exactly what I need to work out in a variety of ways because I can change it to a ramp or incline. It is also large enough that I can lay back and use to for chest presses as well.

It is easy to get my heart rate up quickly and as high as I want using this step, and I do cardio with a heart rate monitor, so there is no mistake about the effect. In a nutshell, I stream a playlist and move to the beat, going up, down, and across the step in different ways. This particular model step (the FreeStyle) can be set up level or at an angle, which offers some variety. The pieces are strong and by no means featherweight, but they are light enough and small enough to stack in a closet, an out of the way corner, or under a bed (as I do). They seem durable, and I like the fact that there are no moving parts, so I think the item will last a long time. (I hope so anyway, especially as the price seems high to me for a few pieces of molded plastic.)One knit pick: The one page instructions are unintelligible to me. Fortunately, things seem to work well and safely without them.In any case, my own bottom line is that for me it is fun, highly effective, and convenient to store and use.
