These are great for kids at an evening event, and can be fun for adults too. They work best at evening events or in dark venues since the lights are hard to see during the day. They have small white lights inside the wand that can either flash or just stay solid on. They're very cheaply made so some may not work out of the box and may need new batteries. I just made sure we had extra for all the kids. The kids love dancing and playing with them.

You must open them prior to the wedding. There is a thin wire with lights wrapped around the wand. The thin wire is dangerously thin and sharp on the end, so I wrapped the end of the wire into a loop so that the end would not injure anyone. It took several minutes each to unwind and loop the end. Otherwise they worked great and did the job I bought them for. They all worked without issue and were beautiful for the wedding sendoff.

The thin wire is hard to see but whips about very dangerously. I would absolutely not try to use this close to other people unless just holding it still. I would even be afraid for my own eyes if holding and shaking energetically.
