Bought this for my 4 year old who loves trains. He's been asking more questions about trains and this book looked like it would be helpful in explaining some things and not be over his head. While it is great for his age, it's not super informative. It has fun facts like steam trains use coal or oil, how the wheels turn, bullet trains using "pantographs" and freight trains being diesel locomotives. I was hoping more for labeling different parts of the train, or engine house, etc, but overall he loves the book and we read it every day (we've had it about 1 week or so now). It's not a lot of reading which is nice (maybe 10 minutes to read), big pictures, big font (will be great for a beginner reader) and a quick little review at the end: what is an engineer? what are pantographs? what is loot? what is a turntable? all 4 words were defined in special caption boxes through the book.
