So as others have said, it’s for an m56 engine NOT m54. I’m keeping it for now just incase I’m ever in a pinch and need a hose that’ll get me by, but definitely not M54

I ordered this product to replace my own intake hoses on my BMW ZHP. The hoses were soft rubber when delivered were wrapped and taped so tightly in the box all of them were seriously out of round. The lower hoses took some manipulation to install on the flanges and a 15 minute job turned into a all day job. (It turned into a 2 day job due to the fact the dealership that replaced them years ago mounted the clamps upside down and backwards so you had to cut the old hoses off to even get a wrench on the nut to release it (another reason for FIXING IT yourself).According to BMW, the clamps are supposed to be mounted so the bolts/screw heads are accessible from the top (second photo). The upper hose is shown, but the lower hose was attached the same way (I don't know how they tightened it up in the first place).Once I spent all day getting it on there and getting the clamps properly mounted, since it was compressed when shipping, the angle of the entrance hose was NOT at the right angle and had to be bent to a position to meet up with the upper hose and the air box (which doesn't move). It was impossible to 'pre fit' everything prior to tightening due to the fact the lower hose kept 'popping' loose once the other hoses and air box was connected to test fit due to the hose being bent and poorly packaged while shipping. The hose is soft rubber and 'does' fit but training needs to go into shipping soft rubber and the likelihood of soft rubber adjusting to the pattern in which it is stored in over a period of time.Advice, put it in the same bag, put it in a bigger box then ship it,. stop trying to compress as much product in as small a container as possible.

I bought these by mistake. Wrong year so these are for M56 engine and just slightly bigger than a M54.Anyway, they feel like good quality intake tubes. I would personally clean them with some rubber conditioner before installing but don't need to. If they were the right part I would trust them to last longer than you will probably own the car.
