Wenige Grate, sehr genaue Teile, manche sind aber auch sehr zerbrechlich. Ein kleiner Teil der Ketten wird aus einzelnen Gliedern gebaut - für die Ketten gibt es auch eine Vorlage, die aus dem Rahmen gebaut wird. Am Ende erhält man ein sehr schönes Modell.

Lots to like about this new mould release of a historically important model from Zvezda. The T-34/85 has long been neglected as a model kit subject, and what little was about, basic, inaccurate or flawed. In their push to quality with new mould releases in 1/48 air and 1/35 armour over the past decade, in 2018 Zvezda have brought to market a package which builds into a solid representation of a WW II T-34/85 in a relatively quick & easy build.Inside the bright new Zvezda signature box end opening colourful sleeve, protected in a hinged top opening strong brown cardboard box you'll find the kit sprues moulded in Soviet tank green packaged in plastic bags, a folded instruction sheet with sprue legend and paint colour reference in the style similar to as found in Tamiya kits, a separate sheet double sided full colour painting guide glossy print, decals for two units which are much improved from previous Zvezda inclusions printed by Begemot, and a piece of material to represent the air intake grille in the transmission access hatch. Not etch in their drive to keep the kit price down, but adequate and it works.In tune with Zvezda's push for representative fidelity and detail yet retaining their straightforward easy build methodology, gone are the toy like plastic continuous length tracks. Instead, included tracks are link and length superbly moulded link in dark gunmetal grey, for which Zvezda provide a curvature guide on which to assemble them to fit the drive and idler wheels making for easier assembly virtually guaranteeing good fit even for the less skilled modeller. Accessorised detail included too. Tarpaulin, fuel storage tanks, tow cables and tool. All parts are crisp as one might expect of a new tool, and detail is of an adequate standard. Clearly not the investment in slide moulded tooling as contemporary Dragon kits, but new tool which Zvezda deliver at a third to half the retail price of the current equivalent new releases from rivals like Dragon and Tamiya..The barrel is moulded in one piece, with a separate capping part to represent the muzzle. This is the one part some might like to substitute as I did, the long ZiS C 53 barrel being such a prominent eye magnet aspect of this model. The overall fidelity of the model deserves it, but I like how Zvezda have kept the kit price down affordable to all ages and budgets by leaving that choice up to modeller discretion. No figurines are provided as is becoming increasingly common with manufacturers today. There is no internal detail, so if intending to present with open hatch, purchase of aftermarket figures will be necessary to hide the void. Importantly though and in its favour, the rough cast of the turret isn't overdone absurdly as in Academy's Zavod 112 variant released just a few years ago.Overall, I'd rate this as currently the most accurate 1:35 T-34 /85 WWII variant model currently available in the market, affordably so permitting sufficient budget for those wanting to detail to the max with barrel and additional etch.
