Review Of:Aquarium Heater, 300W Submersible Fish Tank Heater with Induction Heating (IH) Systems and Temperature Controller for Freshwater Saltwater, LED Display, Explosion (No Glass) for 60-95GalVisit the fishkeeper StorePrice: $39.99 per Count($39.99 / Count)I have used a number of aquarium heaters through the years and this one is my favorite. The first thing that sets this apart from a lot of heaters is the readout screen. The digital screen is super easy to read and is right on the heater. It shows both set and actual temperature, as well as a green light (standbye mode) and a red light (heating). Why is this important? Too many heaters have these displays outside of the tank. Possibly hanging from the back of your tank or under it inside of the cabinet. So in order to check the temperature or to notice that the heater isn't doing its job, you have to mentally remember to look at that screen. This provides that screen right in the view area (inside) the tank, that if you are like me, you see many times a day when you feed your fish or are just watching them. Water temperature is super important and whether its an electrical failure or your actual heater failing, it is something that you want to monitor several times a day.The other features that I really like about this heater:- 4 strong suction cups for mounting.- removable cover, to clean the element and around it.- 93" cord! This is a big one. Too many heaters come with too short of cords!- The heating element is made of fast-heating nickel-chromium wire and explosion-proof quartz tube- 68-93 degree heating range-Sedicated relay circuit, dual-probe overheat protection, water-detection power-off (ER), and over-temperature protection (EE).- Power-off memory function that retains the previously set temperature during a power outage.Obviously the longevity of this heater will determine its full quality and I won't know that for I hope many years. I have purchases several items from this Company (Fish Keepers) and have never been disappointed. This is a STRONG recommend.

I have 7 fish tanks, so I always need a lot of heaters to have ready to put in the tanks, or double up on in the larger tanks. I got this to replace a heater in my 36 gallon tank.CASEMy first thing I want to rave about is the case of this heater. The heater I had in my tank prior to this is a fantastic heater. It has a great readout on it so I can see it across the room. It is larger though and my biggest frustration is that the holes in the case are so big that snails all piled in there and died. This heater is not like that. It has holes but they are smaller and not prone to collect snails in it. I love how easy it is to dismantle for cleaning too!SETTINGThe setting on this heater is inline and it has a plus and minus setting so you don't have to cycle through in one direction. That is a big plus.READ OUTYou have to put this heater in a position where you can read the digital read out on the heater while submerged in the tank. We have very heavily planted tanks, so that can be a bit frustrating if you don't have a clear view of the reading. There is a red light for heating and a green light to show when it is not heating up. They are smaller lights, so you might not see it from a distance easily.PERFORMANCEMy trial runs of this heater have been really good. The temperature is accurate and the heating seems to be well set up. The temperature seems to run very accurately- always within a degree or so. The heater stays on the wall of the tank pretty well.PLUGThe plug is a 3 prong plug so you will need to have a spot in the outlet strip for it. It is not oversized, however. The cord is around 7 feet long.MEMORYThis heater has a memory which I love in the event of a power outage. It does go right back to where it was set, unlike other heaters which have been a struggle that do not do that.THE BOTTOM LINEThis is one of the nicer heaters I have used so far. I have been impressed with its design and performance.MY RATINGFIVE STARS so far. I will update of anything changes, but this heater is pretty good and I am happy with it to this point.

And I think it's even saving us money on the electric bill. I;m using for a covered pond replacing one with temp on outside the water control, and AQQA 500w that gave me just over two years, then started beeping and not working right before an arctic cold surge, the delivery on this was speedy, I keep it within view of the front of the pond, it's working very well, wifi them gauge shows consistent straight line, no drops or rises for two weeks now. I hope it keeps up this superior to the AQQA performance. I really do, will update review if not. Thank you fishkeeper for saving our pondfish.EDIT: Just as sun was shining on it, I am seeing some rust on the heating element. To be expected I guess (?), the cover is easily removed and it was easily cleaned off, but... there are some surface abrasions/discolorations on the element on the front and backside I am noticing, I will keep an eye on this.
